All dancers need ballet training because it is the foundation for other forms of dance. It is essential that ballet training be included your child’s development as a dancer and not be ignored if other forms of dance are to be explored.  To dance safely and correctly young dancers require the strength, flexibility and balance acquired with ballet training. The more a student studies ballet, the more they progress and flourish in every other style of dance.

Ballet classes are a great place to meet new people with similar interests and passions. As adults it can often seem we don’t have many opportunities to learn something new from scratch and do something creative outside of our comfort zone. Doing this with other people who are all in the same boat and who are all looking for their own creative outlet is a great way to make new friends. Eventually ballet classes can form a supportive community, helping people feel comfortable to learn and grow together.

On the other hand, ballet will also help you get your posture on point, as well as en pointe! Ballet classes help to develop correct everyday posture, improving balance and coordination. Training requires a lengthened, vertical spine and square hips, and learning this stance increases awareness of the way you might stand, sit or walk in daily life.

Ballet dancers develop muscle strength, flexibility and mobility enabling them to execute difficult movements with apparent ease. Ballet improves posture and balance which contribute to a leaner, more graceful and elegant appearance. Learning complex ballet movements requires intense concentration and mental alertness while frequent repetition connects the mind and body enabling an almost intuitive response when it is time for the dancer to perform.
